Collins & Aikman Appoints Sandra Thomas, Director - Investor Relations

    TROY, Mich., Nov. 9 -- Collins & Aikman today
announced the appointment of Sandra Thomas as Director of Investor Relations.
Thomas will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of Collins & Aikman's
investor relations program and will play a lead role in further building the
Company's image with the financial community.
    Before joining Collins & Aikman, Thomas was Manager of Financial Reporting
& Analysis for Pulte Corporation, where she played an integral role in the
Company's SEC filings, annual report and other written disclosure documents.
Prior to joining Pulte, Thomas was an Audit Manager for Price Waterhouse LLP,
where she assisted clients primarily in the manufacturing and automotive
sectors.  Thomas is a CPA, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from
the Pennsylvania State University.
