UAW Members Ratify New Pact With Bosch Braking Systems
DETROIT, Nov. 9 -- Members of UAW Locals 1910 and 2155
ratified a new three-year master agreement with Bosch Braking Systems Division
of Robert Bosch Corporation by an 85 percent majority in voting conducted on
Saturday, November 6, UAW President Stephen P. Yokich and Vice President
Elizabeth Bunn announced today.
"This new agreement is a tribute to the hard work and solidarity of UAW
members at Bosch Braking Systems," said Yokich. "We're pleased by their
overwhelmingly positive response to this new contract."
"We're proud of the job the UAW Team at Bosch did in increasing earnings
and strengthening health care and retirement security for UAW Bosch workers
and their families," added Bunn, who directs the UAW Competitive
Shop/Independents, Parts and Suppliers Department.
UAW-represented Bosch workers will receive 3 percent lump-sum payments in
each year of the new agreement and continued COLA protection.
Pension benefits for workers who retire on or after December 1, 1999, are
increased from $30 to $32.25 per month per year of credited service, and
current retirees will receive annual $500 lump-sum payments in addition to
their pension benefits.
Health care coverage for active workers and retirees is maintained with no
increases in co-payments or deductibles, and vision benefits are improved.
Group Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance benefits
are increased by $1,000 in each year of the agreement.
The agreement covers approximately 610 workers at Bosch Braking Systems
Division facilities in Ashland, Ohio (UAW Local 1910) and Johnson City,
Tennessee (UAW Local 2155).
