Mitsubishi Corporation Completes an Equity Investment in Ergonomic Technologies CorporationErgonomic Technologies Corporation to Develop Internet-based Risk Assessment Service and Ergonomic Enterprise-Workforce Planning Software NEW YORK, Nov. 8 -- Ergonomic Technologies Corporation (ETC), an ergonomic consulting technology company, is pleased to announce that Mitsubishi Corporation (headquartered in Tokyo, Japan) and Mitsubishi International Corporation (headquartered in New York) have completed an equity investment in ETC. The investment will allow ETC to complete the development of its ergonomic enterprise-workforce planning software for Fortune 500 companies, and launch its workplace risk assessment and solution management system as a business-to-business Internet-based service. "We welcome both Mitsubishi companies as strategic partners. Ergonomics has been receiving greater attention as companies and governments realize its impact on global productivity and worker safety and health. The direct costs of workplace injuries have skyrocketed in the last ten years. U.S. corporations are spending over $60 billion annually on workplace injuries. Mitsubishi's participation will allow ETC to develop the systems necessary to meet the growing demand for ergonomic services in North America and globally," commented Cynthia Roth, Chairperson of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ETC. Masatoshi "Mac" Moriya, General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation added, "We are very excited about working with ETC to aid our existing companies and clients in setting up a world class ergonomics program. Ergonomics is gaining a following in Japan and we look forward to working with ETC in establishing a business model for Japanese companies. We believe that ETC's vision of merging the benefits of ergonomic programs with the low-cost business-to-business advantages that the Internet offers will prove highly successful."
