Systems Modeling Announces Arena 4.0; Latest Release Delivers Enterprise-Wide Access to Simulation Through Scalable Product Family and Technology Advancements

PITTSBURGH--Nov. 8, 1999--Systems Modeling Corporation introduces the latest release of its popular Arena(R) modeling and simulation software.
Simulation models built in Arena 4.0 help business analysts examine a variety of business process and/or system designs, determine how those designs will impact business outcomes, and implement the best system configuration.
The new release includes several new enhancements:

-- A completely new reporting environment brings simple, high-level tables and graphs of key process performance measures together with detailed information about each element of the simulation model. Simulation results can be exported from Arena's Crystal Reports display to HTML for Internet access or to Microsoft Word, Excel, and other formats for easy information sharing.
-- A new costing feature assesses the cost of implementing new ideas and attributing costs to entities, resources, and processes.
-- The new spreadsheet interface allows model data to be viewed in one central location; data can also be easily transferred from other programs like Excel or Access.
-- Improved process hierarchy tailors the model and its results to any audience. Time, cost, and other statistical information can be viewed at a detailed, departmental level or "rolled up" for viewing at higher organizational levels.
-- Arena Runtime, free with every Arena 4.0 installation, allows any parameter of the simulation model to be changed so that analysts and engineers can perform "what-if" analysis on models built in the full Arena system.
-- Arena 4.0 continues its history of seamless integration with Microsoft Windows and Office tools. Users of Visio or BPWin can import process maps and flowcharts and simulate drawings in Arena 4.0.

Says C. Dennis Pegden, President and CEO, Systems Modeling Corporation, "Arena 4.0 represents a significant advance in the deployment of enterprise-wide simulation technology, helping organizations improve processes and system performance, avoid unnecessary capital investment, increase profits, and reap other vital business benefits. Companies using Systems Modeling's Arena Business Edition for business analysis and improvement can take advantage of advanced simulation technology delivered in the Arena Standard Edition with our new scalable product suite."
