LMS Releases CAT/SYSNOISE 1.0

    LEUVEN, BELGIUM--Nov. 8, 1999--

Bringing Sound Field Prediction To The CATIA User

LMS International announces today the release of CAT/SYSNOISE Rev 1.0. The integrated CAT/SYSNOISE solution embeds the world's leading acoustic prediction tool, LMS SYSNOISE, into CATIA, the world's leading computer-aided-design/manufacturing/ engineering (CAD/CAM/CAE) tool from Dassault Systemes (NYSE, DASTY). CAT/SYSNOISE allows the user to predict acoustic performance directly from the CAD model, without the need to wait for the formal engineering analysis phase of the product development process. CAT/SYSNOISE makes it easier to make well-informed concept-level decisions, examine more candidate designs, and avoid the flawed concept altogether.
LMS has simplified modeling procedures and has eliminated unnecessary data interfacing and exchange, so that CAT/SYSNOISE will make sound field prediction more practical for the entire engineering community. Expert acoustic engineers will benefit from the automated frequency-dependent meshing from the CAD model, which significantly reduces the time spent on the creation of dedicated acoustic models. Non-experts will benefit from the automated procedures that intelligently reduce the time and effort for a quick-look analysis.
CAT/SYSNOISE users will be able to associate the SYSNOISE vibro-acoustic attributes to the CATIA Design and Analysis entities and will take full advantage of the CATIA automatic meshers for acoustic and structural analysis. This will uniquely assure design associativity throughout the vibro-acoustic development process: changes in the CAD model will be directly reflected in the SYSNOISE acoustic model, as well as in the ELFINI structural analysis model. On top of the considerable time gain, the CATIA users also benefit from a familiar user interface. CAT/SYSNOISE is therefore the ideal solution for anyone who wants a quick way of predicting noise radiation or interior acoustics starting from the CAD model.
The release of CAT/SYSNOISE results from the CAA Strategic Development Partnership Agreement between Dassault Systemes and LMS International. This Strategic Development Partnership intends to enable common customers to move from an iterative troubleshooting on physical prototypes, to a proactive design process where quality is systematically built-in at every stage from concept to completion. To deliver on this vision, LMS has integrated its core software products for functional performance engineering in the CATIA environment: CAT/SYSNOISE for NVH and acoustic engineering, CAT/DADS for dynamic motion simulation and CAT/FALANCS for durability engineering.

    About LMS:

LMS provides solutions for functional performance engineering in mechanical product development. Our CAE software, testing systems, and decision support infrastructure enable the engineering team to refine their designs for desirable dynamic behavior, such as motion, ride&handling, structural integrity, vibration, acoustic, NVH, and fatigue lifetime. Our solutions are process-centric within the digital development environment and deliver enterprise-wide productivity throughout the development process. LMS is certified to ISO9001 quality standards, and employs over 500 people in 15 subsidiaries around the world.

    About the CAA Partnership Program

CATIA-CADAM Application Architecture (CAA) provides industries with the software development tools, methods, standards and processes required to create seamlessly integrated applications based on the CATIA open architecture. The CAA partnership program creates tight development relationships with industry leading software developers. It is staged from CAA Development partnership for CAA product integration up to CAA Strategic Development partnership for tighter integration.
