AutoPOL Generates and Unfolds Sheet Metal Models with Autodesk MDT
NASHUA, N.H.--Nov. 8, 1999--The latest release of AutoPOL 7DT, available from CIMLOGIC, Inc., quickly creates parametric sheet metal models with Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 4.Unfolding capability incorporates bend factors for automatic bend compensation. Previously known as Toolbox/SM in North America, AutoPOL is developed by FCC Software, Sweden, and is known worldwide as AutoPOL.
Improved Functions
Chief among the new features in AutoPOL 7DT is the ability to create flat patterns from NURBS or spline surfaces. In addition, a user may now choose to specify the unfolding sequence, an advantage when the model is composed of more than one surface. Editing of sheet metal features is quicker and easier through a new object edit function, and enhanced on-line learning includes multimedia features that demonstrate commands usage. Simplified Unfolding
"The real power behind AutoPOL is the ability to unfold a solid model with one pick" says Bob Noftle, CIMLOGIC President. "The user simply hits the unfold button, picks the edge of the model, and the flat pattern is automatically created. It's the fastest, easiest, most cost effective sheet metal unfolding application for the Desktop."
