Jaguar Cars Posts Best October Ever
MAHWAH, N.J., Nov. 2 -- Jaguar Cars today announced that it
achieved a new sales record in the United States for the month of October by
selling 3,333 cars. The previous best October for the company was in 1985
when 2,619 vehicles were sold.
In addition, Jaguar surpassed its single-year sales record in the U.S.
during the month of October by selling 26,490 cars during the first 10 months,
breaking the long-standing record of 24,464 vehicles sold in 1986. "This
month's sales is a milestone for the company," said Michael H. Dale, president
of Jaguar North America. "We set a record for the month and broke our single-
year sales record with two months left to go. Now every day through the end
of the year, we will establish a new sales record for Jaguar in the U.S."
For the month, sales are up nearly 70 percent compared with October 1998.
For the year, sales have improved almost 47 percent compared with the first
10 months of 1998. Jaguar's 2000 model year product lineup is now available
in showrooms in the U.S. and Canada including: the S-TYPE, XJ8, XJ8 L (not
available in Canada), XJR, Vanden Plas, Vanden Plas S/C sedans, and the XK8
and XKR coupes and convertibles.
