Hyundai Sales Growth Continues; October Sales Up 146%
    FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 2 -- Hyundai Motor America
today announced sales of 14,828 vehicles for the month of October, up 146
percent from one year ago. October sales were the best since 1988. Total
year-to-date sales are 136,790; a 74 percent increase over last year.
    "With sales of 8,697 units, the Elantra continues to be the volume leader
with sales up 251 percent over the same month last year," said Robert Cosmai,
vice-president of sales for Hyundai Motor America.  "Our flagship Sonata
continues to show large sales increases, with a 389 percent increase over last
year," Cosmai added.
    "Helping bring customers into Hyundai showrooms is The Hyundai Advantage,
America's Best Warranty" Cosmai said. "Hyundai buyers are covered by a
10-year/100,000 powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper
warranty, a 5-year/100,000-mile anti-perforation warranty and
5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance protection," he said.
