Kia Sales Continue to Climb Steadily; Year-to-Date Sales Up 52 PercentIRVINE, Calif., Nov. 2 -- Kia continues to reach new peaks as evidenced by 10,641 vehicle sales in October, a 23-percent increase over October 1998. The Korean car company has sold 113,319 vehicles so far this year - a 52-percent increase over the first 10 months of 1998. Most notable in October were sales of the Sephia compact sedan at 6,716 units, an increase of 37 percent from a year ago. Sportage sport-utility vehicle sales of 3,643 units marked a 4-percent increase from last October, while monthly sales of the Sportage 2-Door Convertible were up 36 percent from a year ago. Kia Motors America is the U.S. sales, marketing and service arm of Kia Motors Corp. in Seoul, South Korea.
