Land Rover North America, Inc. Matches All-Time Sales Record Of 23,826 Vehicles
LANHAM, Md., Nov. 2 -- Land Rover North America, Inc. has
matched its best-ever sales year, a record set in 1997, by posting its
23,826th sale, a Java Black Discovery Series II. October 1999 was the best
sales month in Land Rover's history with sales of 3,089 units, an increase of
50.5 percent versus October 1998. It was also the best month in history for
Discovery (2,240 units) and the best October ever for Range Rover (849 units).
Land Rover's sales year-to-date are up 38.9 percent over the same period in
1998.
"Both Discovery Series II and Range Rover continue to meet all our
expectations in the marketplace," said Howard I. Mosher, president and CEO of
Land Rover North America, Inc. "Matching 1997's sales record this early is a
fantastic opportunity. We have two more months remaining in the year to
distance ourselves from that record. It's been a great year and our retailers
really deserve credit. They understand the value in every Land Rover and have
done an excellent job representing our brand in the marketplace."
