    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 1 -- Lear Corporation
today announced the appointment of Cameron C. Hitchcock as Vice President -
Treasurer.

    In his new position, Hitchcock is responsible for global treasury, tax and
finance activities for the corporation, reporting to Lear Senior Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer Donald J. Stebbins.  He assumes his
position at Lear on November 1, 1999.
    Hitchcock joins Lear from Dean Foods Company in Franklin Park, Illinois,
where he was Treasurer.  He also has held positions with the investment bank
Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and Rockwell International.
    He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Spanish from
Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana and a Masters of Business
Administration from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
    Hitchcock, his wife, Becky, and their three children have relocated to
Troy, Michigan from their former residence in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
