Collins & Aikman Appoints James Fish Senior VP - Human ResourcesTROY, Mich., Nov. 1 -- Collins & Aikman today announced the appointment of W. James Fish as Senior Vice President - Human Resources. Fish will replace Harold Sunday, who is retiring from Collins & Aikman after more than 30 years of service. Fish will report directly to Thomas E. Evans, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Collins & Aikman Corporation and will serve on the Company's Strategy Board. Fish joins Collins & Aikman from Ford Motor Company, where he served in a number of senior corporate human resources positions, the most recent being Executive Director - Global Human Resources Customer Operations. Commenting on the appointment, Thomas E. Evans, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Collins & Aikman stated, "We are extremely pleased with the addition of Fish to our senior management team. Not only does he bring Collins & Aikman nearly 30 years of experience in human resources management, but with over 20 years experience at Ford, Fish intimately knows today's automotive industry, our customer base and our Company as a major supplier to Ford Motor Company." Collins & Aikman is in the midst of a comprehensive restructuring program in order to integrate its once separate business units and right-size its global operations. The restructuring is expected to provide significant cost savings through both facility rationalizations and headcount reductions. "Fish is a great addition to the Collins & Aikman team," commented Evans. "With his extensive human resources experience at Ford, a global organization that has undergone extensive transformation in recent years, he will greatly enhance the management and development of our Company's most important asset -- its people." Prior to serving in his current position, Fish served in a number of senior level positions at Ford in North America, including Director - Executive Development & Organization Planning, Director - Corporate Labor Negotiations Planning and Director - Management Development & Recruiting. Fish has also extensive experience in global human resources, including executive level positions for Ford Asia-Pacific, Vice President - Human Resources for Ford of Europe and as Director of Human Resources for Richier S.A. in Paris, France. Fish is chairman of the Conference Board's Global Human Resources Management Council and is also a member of Boston University's H.R. Advisory Board. He holds a B.S. in Psychology and Business from North Texas State University and a M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University. Fish is married with two children and resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
