Toyota Avalon Story Detailed at SAE November Meeting - Style, Substance, Beauty ... Who Could Ask for Anything More?DETROIT, Nov. 1 -- The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Detroit Section is pleased to announce the 2000 Toyota Avalon as the featured vehicle at the society's dinner meeting on Tuesday, November 9, 1999. The Avalon story will be told by four key development team members from the Toyota Technical Center USA: Chuck Gulash, General Manager -- Vehicle Engineer I; William Hoffman, General Manager, Engineering Design I; Edward Mantey, Chief Engineer -- Development Planning and Operations; and Susan Field, Senior Regulatory Engineer -- Environmental Engineering. Originally launched in 1995, the 2000 Avalon has been completely restyled to enhance its reputation as Toyota's flagship model and broaden its appeal to a larger segment of the full-size sedan market. It remains the most sophisticated, spacious and best-equipped car offered by the Toyota Division, and with its many advanced comfort and safety features, the Avalon will continue to be a benchmark among its luxury competitors.
