Bridgestone/Firestone Chooses iFLEET as Fleet Information Service Provider

ATLANTA--Nov. 1, 1999--Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. has chosen iFLEET(TM), the leading provider of fleet information and services for the commercial and automotive industry, to technology and information services for its National Fleet and National Preferred Programs. Specifically, iFLEET will manage on-road tire repair assistance transactions for Bridgestone/Firestone.
"iFLEET's new Web-based co-operating services system provides an advanced capability that enables us to link our customers and distributors together in a real time services environment," says Bridgestone/Firestone Truck Tire Marketing Manager Dave Kolasinsky. "Our company is in the business of manufacturing and marketing tires. IFLEET's focus on technology and services enables us to stick to that business, while offering our customers the most advanced tire service alternatives."
When Bridgestone customers have a tire problem, iFLEET will schedule a repair or replacement through the closest Bridgestone/Firestone dealer. Bridgestone's National Preferred program eliminates many of the hassles drivers experience with breakdowns, including negotiating prices on tires and service, having to carry cash or credit cards for emergencies and delays getting back on the road.
iFLEET will also manage Internet breakdown services for the tire company's customers. This agreement is part of iFLEET's Web-based co-operating initiative for managing commercial transactions. When Bridgestone customers log onto Bridgestone/Firestone's web site at www.trucktires.com, they are directed to the Breakdown Manager site, which is iFLEET's breakdown management system. This allows the company's customers to manage breakdowns from the desktop.
"We are pleased the market leader in commercial tires has chosen iFLEET for their advanced e-Commerce solutions to link customers and dealers," adds Thad Eidman, President of iFLEET. "Our advanced technology services will enhance Bridgestone's fleet programs by providing their customers with the most advanced on-demand and scheduled tire services in the industry."
