TULSA, Okla., Nov. 1 -- Thrifty Rent-A-Car System, Inc. today
announced the naming of Scott Anderson as its Executive Vice President and
Chief Operating Officer, as well as the appointment of two other positions:
Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Advertising, and Vice President of
International Operations.

Scott Anderson, who is currently an Executive Vice President with Thrifty,
has been named as its Chief Operating Officer. Anderson is a 17-year veteran
of the car rental industry and has been with Thrifty Car Rental since 1987.
As COO, he will oversee the company's U.S. and international operations, all
of the company's sales, marketing and advertising efforts, as well as the
company's reservation operations and customer service areas. He will continue
to report to Thrifty President and CEO Don Himelfarb.
"Scott Anderson has been a guiding force at Thrifty, and through the years
has contributed significantly to the growth and development of the Thrifty Car
Rental brand," said Himelfarb. "The impact he has made in improved customer
service and the elevating of Thrifty's global presence to that of a world-
class player will be felt well into the future."
In the 12 years he has been at Thrifty Car Rental, Anderson has had
responsibility for most of the operational areas of the company at one time or
another. Prior to joining Thrifty, he had a five-year association with the
Hertz Corporation.
Thrifty also announces two additional Executive appointments. Brian
Carpenter has been named Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Advertising,
and Robert Erickson, has been promoted to the position of Vice President of
International Operations.
Brian Carpenter, Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Advertising:
Carpenter previously worked for SABRE as Vice President of Sales and
Marketing for the company's North and South American markets. During his
three years at SABRE, Carpenter won one of the largest contracts in SABRE's
history with Southwest Airlines, and contributed to improving the company's
overall customer satisfaction.
"Brian brings to Thrifty a very high level of energy and creativity," said
Anderson. "He is a natural fit for Thrifty given the integral role that SABRE
has played in facilitating communications between travel agents and suppliers
like Thrifty. Under his guidance, I am convinced that Thrifty will achieve a

At Thrifty, Carpenter's responsibilities will include all marketing and
advertising functions, the internet, travel industry sales, government and
corporate account sales, and strategic travel industry relationships with
airlines, hotels and other industry players.
Prior to SABRE, Carpenter worked for Hitachi Data Systems as Director of
Sales, and started his professional career at IBM, where he worked 10 years in
sales and marketing for the computer giant.
Robert Erickson, Vice President, International Operations:
Erickson, who has been with Thrifty for six years, worked most recently as
Assistant General Counsel, and has been involved for the last five years in
negotiating franchise sales and resolving other international issues. In his
new position, he will be responsible for developing Thrifty's global
operations, maintaining the company's relationships with international
franchise owners and the selling of Thrifty Car Rental franchises outside of
the U.S. and Canada. Prior to Thrifty, Bob practiced commercial litigation as
an attorney for eight years at Jones, Givens, Gotcher & Bogan, PC, a law firm
in Tulsa. Erickson fills the position following the recent death of longtime
Thrifty executive and V.P., Todd Shackelford who passed away following an
extended battle with cancer.

combined with his extensive knowledge of our international organization, will
