This eighth-edition catalog features such fashion items as classic British sportcoats, knit polo sweaters and Herringbone twill sports shirts. There are four distinct lines of Land Rover luggage and a selection of business and travel accessories. Sweatshirts, baseball caps and coffee mugs, all marked with the respected Land Rover oval, are also among the selections. The 29-page catalog offers shoppers over 200 distinct items -- each capturing Land Rover's sophisticated spirit of adventure, elegance and style -- in perfect time for the holiday gift-giving season. Gear turns the Land Rover name into a personal fashion statement. "The Land Rover brand is steeped in a history of adventure and exudes a certain, unmistakable British style," says Terry Drake, merchandise manager for Land Rover North America, Inc. "Land Rover's well-known green oval connotes the pure luxury of our vehicles, and we also bring that sense of luxury to our apparel line. Gear has been very successful for Land Rover-it is more than just our name on a few shirts and hats. It is a cohesive collection of clothing and accessories that appeals to a large group of consumers, not just Land Rover owners." Launched in 1995, the Land Rover Gear business has grown at a rate of 10 percent per year to become an important component of the Land Rover marketing effort. Gear is available at all Land Rover retail outlets -- which now number 119 in the United States -- and through the official website at http://www.landrovergear.com. Land Rover Gear stores are also in operation at Land Rover's two driving schools, located at the Equinox Resort in Manchester, Vermont and at The Greenbrier, in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Land Rover North America, Inc., established in 1986, imports Range Rover and Discovery Series II vehicles manufactured in Solihull, England, for sale in the U.S. and is a wholly owned subsidiary of The BMW Group, Munich, Germany.
