ADP Dealer Services' CPA/Consultant Training Earns National Accounting Standards Board Accreditation; Classes Qualify for Continuing Professional Education Credits

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.--Oct 27, 1999--The Dealer Services Group of ADP(R), Inc., announced today at the AICPA Convention in Las Vegas that the National Accounting Standards Board had approved its popular CPA/Consultant Certification courses for Continuing Professional Education accreditation.
"That's a home run -- an accredited continuing education course specifically tailored for the auto retail industry we serve," said Wayne Fortier, Senior Manager for the Raleigh, NC office of Dixon Odom PLLC, which services 400 dealerships nationwide.
The CPA/Consultant Certification course helps ADP and CPA firms work more closely to provide auto and truck dealers with superior service and solutions. The custom-designed three-day class teaches analysis of standard reports generated by ADP's dealer management software, creating custom financial reports, and downloading data from a host to PC spreadsheet and database files.
For more intensive training, ADP announced today a new course - Advanced Consultant Class Level 2. It focuses on helping CPAs identifying file structures and file hierarchies, build and work with Dictionary (DICT) terms, define conversions, correlations, codes and formats, build English statements, format reports, and use report generators.
"By better understanding the ADP system, especially the WRQ Reflection(R) emulator program that lets us download data from the client's host to our own PC or laptop for analysis, we can bring more value to our clients," said Tony Allison, Manager of Office Manager Services for Crowe, Chizek and Co., LLP. The firm services 350 dealerships nationwide. Allison's group staffs dealerships with experienced, temporary office managers who have completed the CPA/Consultant course.
According to ADP's Clif Mason, Director of Product Marketing, attendees from more than 15 CPA firms specializing in auto and truck retail have completed the course. "We want our CPA partners as knowledgeable as possible about ADP systems, financial reporting tools and business office consolidation so they can provide the best accounting and business consulting services that help dealers maximize their bottom line," Mason said.
"Our staff came away better prepared to service our clients in both compliance and consulting type engagements," said Michael Garilli, Manager, Blum Shapiro, West Hartford, CT. The firm services 85 auto dealership clients.
ADP Dealer Services Group is the leading provider of integrated computing solutions to more than 18,000 auto and truck manufacturers and dealers throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America. The Dealer Services Group is the third largest business unit of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. .
