UAW Members at Ford Ratify New Agreement

    DETROIT, Oct. 26 -- UAW President Stephen P. Yokich and UAW
Vice President Ron Gettelfinger, director of the UAW Ford Department, today
announced that the membership has ratified the tentative contract with Ford by
an overall margin of 85 percent.
    "We're very proud of this contract and the teamwork that made it possible.
It's rewarding to know that the UAW Ford membership supports the agreement by
such a substantial margin," commented UAW President Stephen P. Yokich.
    "This contract represents excellent progress for UAW Ford families and
delivers full protection for our members who work at Visteon now and in the
future.  It creates a solid foundation for our members and for a constructive
relationship between the UAW and Ford in the years ahead," said UAW Vice
President Ron Gettelfinger.
