Jaguar Breaks Long-Standing, Single-Year Sales Record
MAHWAH, N.J., Oct. 25 -- Jaguar Cars announced that it
has surpassed its long-standing, single-year sales record in the United
States. Prior to today, Jaguar's record sales, since 1986, had been 24,464
vehicles.
"This is an extraordinary day in our company's history," said Michael H.
Dale, president of Jaguar North America. "Achieving this record is testimony
of the Jaguar team's dedication to serving our customers. Every member of our
team, from those on the factory floor to our employees here in the U.S. and
our dealers throughout the country, played a key role in reaching this
milestone."
Today's full-year sales record occurs with over two months left in the
calendar year. "This year's introduction of our all-new S-TYPE sedan and XKR
sports car has taken us to this new sales height," said Dale. "But we cannot
overlook the impact that our strides in improved quality and sales
satisfaction have played in our growth. This is a great year for Jaguar in
the U.S."
Jaguar's product line in the U.S. consists of the XJ8, XJ8 L, XJR, Vanden
Plas, Vanden Plas S/C and S-TYPE sedans, and the XK8 and XKR coupes and
convertibles. The company's U.S. sales in 1998 totaled 22,503 vehicles.
There are 134 Jaguar dealerships in the U.S.
