SDRC Receives $1.5 Million Metaphase(R) Order from United Defense; United Defense to use Metaphase Within the Crusader and Navy Development Programs
CINCINNATI--Oct. 21, 1999--SDRC , a leading global supplier of enterprise product development solutions and developer of I-DEAS(R) and Metaphase(R) software, today announced that United Defense L. P. (UDLP) has awarded a follow on contract to SDRC for Metaphase(R) Enterprise(TM) software and services. The value of the order is $1.5 million.The Armament Systems Division has developed an Integrated Data Environment (IDE) for managing all data within Crusader and various Navy development programs. The division is a global supplier of naval gun mounts and missile launchers, and the prime contractor and systems integrator of Crusader, the next self-propelled cannon artillery system for the U. S. Army. "We wanted to minimize technology risks for the Crusader program throughout its design and deployment phase," said Fred Strader, vice president and general manager of Armament Systems Division of United Defense. "Selecting and deploying Metaphase will result in important business benefits including improved design quality as well as reduced cycle time."
