ALPNET Sponsors First SAE TOPTEC Symposium for The Automotive Industry on Multilingual Documentation
SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 20 -- ALPNET, Inc. , the
global leader in Multilingual Information Management services, announced today
that it is the main sponsor of the "SAE TOPTEC Symposium on Multilingual
Documentation for the Automotive Industry," which is being held in Amsterdam,
The Netherlands, on October 21 and 22. The symposium will attract an audience
of over one hundred global information management decision makers from the
automotive industry. ALPNET will participate in the program and will be
demonstrating its technology for multilingual information management. This
technology is being enhanced and extended in cooperation with Sun
Microsystems.
"We are excited to sponsor this first-time event which is similar to the
first Localization Industry Standards Association ("LISA") meeting nine years
ago, which brought the localization decision makers from the information
technology industry together," comments Jaap van der Meer, President/CEO of
ALPNET. "ALPNET was a founding member of LISA, which has well over one
hundred members and is a co-sponsor of the symposium. Globalization of
product and service information is an increasing challenge for the automotive
industry. ALPNET is one of the largest suppliers of multilingual information
management services to the automotive industry and provides innovative
solutions for information management and language technology integration."
This two-day symposium will focus on the newest technologies available to
streamline the translation and documentation process and to optimize cost,
quality, and time-to-market. The symposium will address document management
and workflow systems, translation technologies, and authoring technologies.
The symposium will also address standardization issues such as terminology,
quality standards for translation and documentation, and document structuring
and distribution standards (SGML, XML).
