Top Driver Acquires Wollenberg's Driving School Acquisition Integral to Connecticut Expansion

    AVON, Conn., Oct. 20 -- Top Driver, the nation's fastest
growing driver education company, today announced it has purchased
Wollenberg's Driving School, with three locations, based in Avon, Connecticut.
Following the Company's recent opening of a new training facility in
Waterbury, this acquisition provides Top Driver with an expanding presence in
Connecticut that now extends from Bridgeport to Hartford.
    "With its 40 year legacy, Wollenberg's is, without question, the most
highly respected, privately owned driving school in the state having built and
maintained a strong reputation in the Bristol-Torrington-Avon area," stated
Sebastian Giordano, Top Driver chief operating officer.
    "Selling a family business is never an easy decision, but once I
understood Top Driver's strategy for improving the quality of the industry, I
was absolutely convinced that our customers, employees, family name and the
future of driver education would be in excellent hands," said owner Tom
Wollenberg.
    Wollenberg's Driving School was founded in 1958 by Tom's father, Albert,
who was one of the original members of the Driving School Association of
America (DSAA).  After serving in several capacities for the DSAA, including
as its president, the elder Wollenberg formed the Connecticut chapter and was
largely responsible for saving driver education from elimination in the state.
    With 33 locations in Connecticut, New Jersey, Ohio and Indiana, Top Driver
employs the latest technology in touch-screen computer training, multimedia
classroom instruction and one-on-one coaching in late model vehicles.  It is
the first to deliver standardized curriculum with automobile product and
service information, auto insurance services, driving accessories and
Department of Motor Vehicle services.
