TRACKS: A special night at Irwindale Speedway, October 23

15 October 1999

ENTERTAINMENT AND FUND-RAISER AT IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY

San Bernardino, CA (Oct. 15, 1999) - Fans attending Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale,
CA on Saturday, October 23, will not only be treated to four exciting races,
but there will lots of additional entertainment and fun.

Designated as "A Special Wish Night," Irwindale Speedway will host a variety
of activities to benefit the Southern California chapter of "A Special Wish,"
the third largest wish-granting organization in the United States that grants
wishes to children who are terminally ill, or have a life-threatening disease.

Race fans will be able to bid on an extensive variety of items in the ASW Silent
Auction -- including a packet of two tickets and pit passes for all four days
of the season finale of NASCAR Craftsman Truck and CART races at California Speedway
on October 28-31 -- autographed limited-edition racing books, a stay at the lush
Mission Inn in Riverside, Jeff Gordon caps and shirts, and much more.

There will be two car shows - Corvettes Limited and Pontiac GTOs -- band music,
and a family area where the puppeteer/magician group "Jerry & Friends" will entertain.

In addition, an estimated 500 to 1000 Harley-Davidson motorcycles are expected
to come roaring into the speedway to finish their charity ride and display their
mounts for the public. Sponsored by Laidlaw Harley-Davidson of Rosemead, a portion
of the monies raised by Laidlaw's charity ride will go to benefit A Special Wish.
To register for the ride, Harley-Davidson riders can call Laidlaw's at (626)
280-3977.

For every race fan who presents a coupon from the Special Wish flyer when they
purchase their ticket, will have portion of that ticket sale go to ASW's wish-granting
fund. Call (909) 381-3854 for coupon.

That evening, NASCAR stock car fans will be treated to a hard-charging
75-lap Late Model open competition race that will see many stars from the length
and breadth of California heading to Irwindale Speedway's half-mile banked oval
to compete for money, prestige, and racing glory, instead of points. Super Stocks
will provide another 50 laps of intense racing action.

A special edition of the Mechanix Wear Speed Truck Challenge race series will
feature a "race within a race" as seven-time World Champion Supercross star Jeremy
McGrath challenges his boss, Chapparal Motorsports team owner Dave Damron, in
identical Evernham-Hawley Speed Trucks. Rounding out the evening will be a rousing
competition in the Mini-Stocks. Gates for the event will open at
2 p.m.
