Visteon Strengthens Global Expertise With Addition of Buker to Leadership Team
    DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 13 -- Visteon Chassis Systems will be
led by a new world-class vice president Edwin L. "Ed" Buker, who has been
appointed vice president and general manager effective immediately.
    He succeeds Ray Schaffart who has elected to retire at the end of the
year.
    Buker brings exceptional talent and experience to Visteon.  He joins
Visteon from United Technologies Automotive where he was president, Electrical
Systems - The Americas.  In this position, Buker was responsible for managing
all phases of electrical and electronic systems development at United
Technologies Automotive.  He was responsible for 30 plants and technical
facilities in North America and the Asia-Pacific region and brings outstanding
leadership qualities, operations expertise and global customer relationships
to Visteon.

talented leaders like Ed at every level," Muhlhauser added.
    Prior to his position with United Technologies, Buker was vice president
of new model development for BMW Manufacturing Corporation in Munich, Germany.
Buker also served as vice president of manufacturing for BMW's Spartanburg,
South Carolina facility.  In this capacity, he was the first U.S. associate
sent to Germany by BMW to establish and lead production of five new vehicle
models for the North American market.
    Prior to BMW, Buker spent eight years with Honda of America Manufacturing,
Inc., in Marysville, Ohio.  He spent five years as vice president and plant
manager of Honda's East Liberty, Ohio manufacturing facility.  He also served
as Honda's vice president of auto quality.  In this role, he was responsible
for North American product quality, new model engineering for manufacturing
and areas such as warranty, feedback and claims.

    Buker holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Tri-State
University in Angola, Indiana and a master's in business administration from
Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
