Lear Corporation Appoints David C. Wajsgras To Vice President - Controller    
    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 13 -- Lear Corporation
today announced the appointment of David C. Wajsgras as Vice President -
Controller.

    As Vice President - Controller, Wajsgras is responsible for all accounting
and financial reporting functions of the corporation, reporting to Lear Senior
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Donald J. Stebbins.
    Wajsgras joins Lear from Engelhard Corporation in Iselin, New Jersey,
where he was Corporate Controller.  He previously was employed at AlliedSignal
Inc., and General Electric where he held various financial and operational
positions.
    Wajsgras earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the
University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland (USA) and a Masters of
Business Administration degree in Finance from the American University in
Washington, D.C. (USA).  He is a certified public accountant and a member of
the Financial Executives Institute.
    Wajsgras and his wife, Teena, have three children and are in the process
of relocating from Mendham, New Jersey (USA) to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
(USA).
