Titan International, Inc. and Caterpillar Inc. Negotiating Agreement

12 October 1999

Titan International, Inc. and Caterpillar Inc. Negotiating Agreement for LSW Wheel and Tire Assemblies
QUINCY, Ill., Oct. 12 -- Titan International, Inc.
is in talks with Caterpillar Inc. to enter an
agreement to supply LSW and standard wheel and tire assemblies to Caterpillar
for use on its new skid steer loader products manufactured at Caterpillar's
Sanford, N.C. facilities.
Titan has invested a significant amount of time and money during the last
three years to develop the patent-pending LSW series. The LSW assemblies,
featuring a shorter tire sidewall with a larger wheel to maintain the same
outside tire diameter as conventional designs, greatly enhance the performance
and productivity of off-highway equipment. The skid steer loader assemblies
were the initial offering from Titan's LSW series which now includes
assemblies for agricultural, construction and consumer equipment.
"We are proud that Caterpillar has recognized the LSW performance benefits
and characteristics and has worked with Titan in selecting a full range of
tires in support of its skid steer loaders," stated Maurice Taylor Jr.,
president and CEO of Titan International, Inc.

Titan International, Inc. is a global manufacturer of mounted wheel and
tire systems for off-highway equipment used in agriculture, construction,
mining, military, recreation and grounds care. Titan has worldwide
manufacturing and distribution facilities.
