Jim Price Joins Classified Ventures as Senior Vice President, Package & Merchant Sales
CHICAGO--Oct. 12, 1999--Classified Ventures, the leading online provider of nationally branded classified advertising, today announced the appointment of James F. Price as senior vice president, package and merchant sales.Price joins Classified Ventures from Macmillan Computer Publishing where he was vice president and publisher of the company's Que and am i.c. branded publications.
In his new role at Classified Ventures, Price will assume overall responsibility for an integrated sales organization responsible for driving both ad package and merchant package sales, directly and through the Classified Ventures affiliate network, for all of Classified Ventures vertical businesses.
"Jim Price brings to our company an outstanding record of achievement in the publishing and computer industries," said Classified Ventures CEO David Israel. "Merchant sales will be a key component of our continued growth, and we are confident in the leadership that Jim will provide."
Price's appointment is among a series of senior management promotions and new assignments the company announced this week, designed to help Classified Ventures and its divisions respond more quickly and effectively to market opportunities, and to focus more management attention on serving its vertical market affiliates.
The company participates in the online automotive information market through its cars.com division; in the online real estate market through its Apartments.com, HomeHunter, NewHomeNetwork.com and MovingCenter.com businesses, and in the online auction market through its Auction Universe division.
Earlier in Price's career, he served in a variety of sales, marketing and management positions with both Macmillan Publishing and with IBM's Enterprise Systems Division. He holds a B.S. degree from the school of business at Indiana University.
