Top Driver Becomes First Driving School To Mandate National Instructor Certification; Credentialing Program Endorsed By The American Driver And Traffic Safety Education Association
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Oct. 12 -- Top Driver today announced
that it is forming an alliance with the American Driver and Traffic Safety
Education Association (ADTSEA) to ensure the highest quality standards for its
curriculum development and instructor training programs. It has adopted the
national standards established by ADTSEA for teacher credentialing, which both
organizations strongly support. In addition, the two organizations intend to
work exclusively on various projects that will enhance the driver education
industry and promote driver safety.
Top Driver is the nation's fastest growing driver education company and
its mission is to develop the country's first fully-integrated national driver
training and education company. The largest organization of its kind, ADTSEA
is the national organization representing driver education teachers
nationwide.
"We believe that our decision to utilize ADTSEA as our independent
credentialing body will guarantee that all of our instructors and trainers
will undergo the most stringent and consistent training program of any driver
education company in the country," stated Sebastian Giordano, Top Driver chief
operating officer. "In addition, with ADTSEA's participation in our
curriculum development, our vehicle training programs will continue to evolve
with the assistance of some of the nation's top safety experts."
According to Dr. Allen Robinson, ADTSEA chief executive officer, "We were
extremely impressed with Top Driver's strategy and we believe that the company
shares our unwavering commitment to raise the standards of driver education in
this country. Such a relationship between a commercial enterprise and an
educational association like ADTSEA is unprecedented in the field of driver
education. Both parties are excited about the potential benefits to each
other, and more importantly, to the public."
ADTSEA was founded in 1957 to be the national driver education teachers'
organization. With over 1,100 individual and corporate members, representing
both public school and commercial-school driver education teachers, it is the
largest organization of its kind in the United States. ADTSEA has recently
developed and begun promoting a national teacher certification program for
driver education teachers. The Association is currently managed by the
Highway Safety Center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
With 27 locations in New Jersey, Connecticut, Indiana, and Ohio, Top
Driver employs the latest technology in touch-screen computer training,
multimedia classroom instruction and one-on-one coaching in late model
vehicles. It is the first to deliver standardized curriculum with automobile
product and service information, auto insurance services, driving accessories
and Department of Motor Vehicle services.
