Marlboro Team Penske to Partner with Honda
    TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 11 -- American Honda announced today
that an engine supply agreement has been reached with Marlboro Team Penske to
run Honda engines in their Champ Cars driven by Gil de Ferran and Greg Moore,
starting with the 2000 CART FedEx Championship season.
    "There is no stronger name in Champ Car racing than Roger Penske,"
commented Tom Elliott, President of Honda Performance Development.  "Penske
Racing is the winningest team in FedEx Championship history. Roger Penske
defines the pursuit of excellence in racing.  Honda is proud to join this
tradition and Marlboro Team Penske's commitment to lead Champ Car racing in
the new millennium.  This new partnership is an exciting combining of

    Honda clinched its third CART Manufacturer's Championship in the last four
seasons at the Honda Grand Prix of Monterey on September 12.  Honda drivers
have won the PPG Cup Driver's Championship for the past three years and a
Honda driver is assured of the driver's championship this year.  Honda drivers
currently hold the top three spots in the championship and have swept the top
three positions the past two years.
