Industry Analysts Frost & Sullivan Highlight Motorola's Telematics Market Leadership

    SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--(AutomotiveWire)--Oct. 5, 1999--Motorola announced today that it has received Frost & Sullivan's Market Engineering Leadership Award, for its leadership in the emerging telematics market. Motorola was selected from among 80 industry players in the specialized automotive communications technology. Telematics combines wireless voice and data to provide location-specific security, information, productivity, and in-vehicle entertainment services.
    The award was announced following the summer 1999 release of Frost & Sullivan's Strategies & Issues in the World Automotive Telematics Market report. According to the report, the telematics market is expected to achieve revenues of $7.2 billion in 2005.
    Frost & Sullivan selected Motorola for its active partnering with other industry participants to advance the telematics industry, including worldwide automakers and telematics response center providers.
