The National AAMCO Dealers Association Selects New General Counsel

CHICAGO--Oct. 5, 1999--The National AAMCO Dealers Association (NADA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Elliott B. Adler as General Counsel.
Mr. Adler will succeed Gerald Shine, who is retiring at the end of the year after 32 years with NADA.
Elliott B. Adler, a partner at Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP, concentrates on complex commercial litigation and association law in Washington, D.C. Mr. Adler represents non-profit trade associations and educational foundations as general or special counsel. "I am very honored to have been selected by NADA to continue Jerry's vision and stewardship of this organization," stated Mr. Adler.
"We are delighted at having Elliott on board and look forward to a long and productive relationship for another 32 years," added Mike Ganjei, President of NADA.
Mr. Adler received his J.D. from American University in 1975 and his M.A. in 1972 from New York University. Mr. Adler is a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy Skills Program and Deposition Skills Program at Georgetown University Law Center.
He has also been an instructor in antitrust law for the Advanced Entertainment Law and Finance Seminar at California Western School of Law.

Founded in 1967, and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the National AAMCO Dealers Association (NADA) represents the interests of AAMCO dealers throughout the United States and Canada.
NADA works towards promoting the common business interests of persons engaged in the automotive transmissions business as franchise AAMCO dealers and is dedicated to improving the business conditions and establishing a liaison with the franchisor, AAMCO Transmissions, Inc. In 1988 NADA negotiated a contract amendment that resulted in rolling back franchise fees from 9% to 5%.
This was cited in the Wall Street Journal as being a major accomplishment by a dealers association. NADA has a 66 member Board of Directors. In addition, a 7 person Executive Committee and 12 working committees meet regularly with AAMCO management to discuss issues of interest to its members.
