Best-Ever September Sales Reported by Lexus Central Area

    CHICAGO, Oct. 5 -- Lexus Central Area dealers posted best-
ever September sales of 2,209 vehicles, an 8 percent increase over September
1998 when 2,050 were sold.
    The RX300 sport Utility vehicle continues to be the Lexus Central Area's
volume leader, accounting for 923 sales, a 33 percent increase over last year.
For the first nine months of 1999, RX300 sales increased 90 percent to 9,562.
Total Lexus sales during that period increased 27 percent to 22,631.
    "Strong economic conditions and our comprehensive product lineup drove
sales to record levels in September," said Nancy Davies, area manager for the
Lexus Central Area.  "While our number one seller continues to be the RX300,
it is apparent that more people are discovering the superior luxury and value
of our sedans and the sheer excitement of the Lexus coupe."

dealers in the Midwest.
