Best-Ever September Sales Reported by Toyota's Kansas City Region
    KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 5 -- Toyota's Kansas City Region
posted record car and truck sales in September of 2,678 vehicles, a 17 percent
increase over last year when 2,296 vehicles were sold.
    "Our North-American built nameplates accounted for 85 percent of our total
sales," said Paul Holdridge, general manager of the Kansas City Region.
"Sienna and Corolla sales were up 37 and 30 percent, while Camry sales grew by
13 percent, over last September."
    Toyota's new full-size truck, Tundra, built in Princeton, Indiana, also
contributed to the Region's record month.  Along with the Tacoma, truck sales
were up 65 percent over September 1998.
    "The Kansas City Region dealers closed out the 1999 model year as one of
their best-ever," Holdridge added.  "They plan to carry the momentum over into
the year 2000."
    The Toyota Kansas City Region includes 74 dealers in Iowa, Kansas, South
and North Dakota, Missouri and Nebraska.
