Jaguar Cars Posts Best September Ever
MAHWAH, N.J., Oct. 4 -- Jaguar Cars today announced that it
achieved a new sales record in the United States for the month of September by
selling 2,805 cars. The company topped the 1998 September sales by 1,152 cars
or nearly 70 percent.
For the month, XJ Series sedan sales totaled 1,106, sports car sales were
484 and sales of the S-TYPE sedan were 1,215. Total year-to-date sales were
23,157, up 44 percent compared with the first nine months of 1998.
"September has been a great month for Jaguar," said Steve Odell, vice
president of Marketing and Sales for Jaguar North America. "We are delighted
to continue the sales momentum, this being the fifth consecutive best-ever
month that we have seen a sales record."
In Canada, sales were up nearly 86 percent compared with September 1998.
Jaguar Canada sold 180 cars during the month, topping the same period last
year by 83 cars.
