TRW Highlights Global Reach At Aviation Expo/China '99
SOLIHULL, England--Oct. 4, 1999--TRW Inc. will emphasize its global reach and systems expertise at Aviation Expo/China '99 to be held at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing, October 7-9, 1999.TRW Aeronautical Systems (Lucas Aerospace) will be located at stand No. 6112 and will emphasize its leading positions in high integrity systems and equipment for engine controls, aircraft and missile flight controls, electrical power generation and management, cargo handling systems, hoists and winches, all backed by a worldwide customer support organization.
TRW Aeronautical Systems (Lucas Aerospace) has been building a strong relationship with the Chinese aerospace industry since 1968, first by providing engine controls on the Rolls-Royce Spey engine program followed by the supply of aircraft equipment on such aircraft as the Y-12, K-8 and Y7-200A.
In an effort to be closer to its customers, the company opened an office in Hong Kong in 1985 and Beijing in 1992.
The company established a joint venture in Xiamen in 1994 with Taikoo Aircraft Engineering Company (TAECO) which provides repair and overhaul for engine and flight control systems, electrical power generation and other aerospace equipment to support customer airlines from the Asia-Pacific region.
The joint venture was the first of its kind by a Western aerospace equipment supplier and is still performing strongly today. TRW's Aerospace and Automotive groups have a total of nine joint ventures throughout China.
