DSAA also announced its official endorsement of a curriculum designed to teach drivers about the proper use of anti-lock brake systems. Developed to help driver education instructors teach the fundamentals of the ABS technology in a classroom and driving range setting, the curriculum includes classroom lessons, instructional video, student quizzes, worksheets and transparencies. "With approximately one in three vehicles equipped with ABS and the interactive nature of the technology, hands on learning is essential," said Keith Russell, president of the DSAA. "In fact, I never fully understood the benefits of the technology of ABS until I really worked it in a test track situation." To further dmonstrate the DSAA's support for its automotive partners including the Alliance, Russell decreed November 1999 as National Automotive Technology Month.
