NASCAR SJAPS: Query Grabs Bud Pole for 19th Annual Greased Lightning All American 400

Nashville, Tenn. - October 1 - Mooresville, N.C.'s Freddie Query took a
huge step towards an unprecedented third consecutive win in the Greased
Lightning All American 400 when he grabbed the Bud Pole position for the
19th annual running of the Slim Jim All Pro Series, NASCAR touring event at
Nashville Speedway USA.  Driving his RaceCar College Chevrolet Monte Carlo,
the 1998 Slim Jim All Pro Series Champion toured the 0.596-mile oval in a
time of 18.669 seconds at an average speed of 114.928 mph to earn his
second pole position of 1999 and his second pole position for this race.
It was also Query's seventh career Bud Pole position in Slim Jim All Pro
Series, NASCAR Touring competition.
	Huntersville, N.C.'s Coy Gibbs, in a heated battle with Mooresville,
N.C.'s Rodney Childers for Rookie-of-the-Year honors in the Series, will
start on the outside front row after clocking a time of 18.812 seconds at
an average speed of 114.055 mph.  Rounding out the top five were Greer,
S.C.'s Steven Howard, Childers and Slim Jim All Pro Series points leader
Wayne Anderson.
	Completing the top 10 were Cumming, Ga.'s Larry Raines, Arden, N.C.'s Lee
Tissot, Easley, S.C.'s Randy Gentry, Pensacola, Fla.'s Eddie Mercer and
Anderson's closest points pursuer, Billy Bigley, Jr. of Naples, Fla.
Conyers, Ga.'s Ron Young had his qualifying time disallowed when the fuel
in his Chevrolet did not meet specifications, per the NASCAR Touring
rulebook, Section 20C-15.2.  Young, who had originally qualified third
fastest, will be forced to re-qualify during second round Bud Pole
Qualifying at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
The 19th Annual Greased Lightning All American 400, set to take the green
flag at 6:00 p.m. central time, is the 16th and final race on the 16-race
1999 Slim Jim All Pro Series, NASCAR Touring schedule.  The race will air
on TNN, The Nashville Network, on Saturday, October 16, at 2:00 p.m.
eastern time.
