Avis Announces Club Red 'Bag $10,000' Sweepstakes
    GARDEN CITY, N.Y., Oct. 1 -- Avis Rent A Car System, Inc.
announced today that it is launching the "Bag $10,000" Sweepstakes
for travel agents enrolled in the Company's Club Red incentive program.  The
sweepstakes will run from October 5 to November 30, 1999 and award both weekly
prizes and a Grand Prize of $10,000 for a shopping spree at the Mall of
America in Bloomington, Minnesota.  The Mall of America is the largest
shopping mall in the United States.  This Grand Prize also includes airfare
for four and three night's hotel accommodations.  Each week during the
sweepstakes one travel agent will also be selected to win $500.
    Agents will receive one entry for each Avis Club Red booking they make
that results in a completed rental during the contest period.  The entry will
be in addition to the Club Red points that the agents already receive for
every day of a completed weekend or weekly rental they book that includes a
Saturday night overstay.  These points can be used for valuable rewards from
the Club Red Mall Catalog.
    "This sweepstakes awards the ultimate shopping experience to the lucky
winner, keeping in line with the Club Red theme of 'Book Avis and Go
Shopping.'  It is another way Avis is demonstrating its support and commitment

books the better their chances to win either a weekly prize or this exciting

    Travel agents must be Club Red Members to participate.  For more

open to travel agents in the United States.
    Agents must provide their Club Red Membership Code in qualifying Avis
