Visteon Builds Engineering Expertise in Asia Pacific Region With Purchase of NaldecDEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 30 -- Visteon Automotive Systems continues to build an expert portfolio of international engineering and production capability with the purchase of Naldec Corporation in Hiroshima, Japan. Naldec engineers and manufactures advanced electronic body and safety vehicle modules. Acquisition of the corporation allows Visteon to establish a manufacturing and technical base in Japan that will be leveraged throughout the Asia Pacific Region. "Visteon is committed to providing vehicle manufacturers throughout the world with leading edge engineering and design expertise and the very best modules and systems available," said Craig Muhlhauser, president, Visteon. "Our purchase of Naldec is crucial to our ability to effectively do this in the Asia Pacific Region. We are pleased to welcome the Naldec team to Visteon." Visteon purchased 100 percent of Naldec from Mazda Motor Corporation for an undisclosed sum. Currently, the majority of Naldec's sales are to Mazda. Naldec's manufacturing plant in Hiroshima produces approximately 4 million air bag, antilock brake, keyless entry, speed control and other electrical modules annually. The corporation employs approximately 220 people, including about 70 engineers.
