A Joint Statement from the International Union, UAW, General Motors Corporation, and Delphi Automotive SystemsUAW, General Motors Corporation and Delphi Automotive Systems Reach Tentative Agreements DETROIT, Sept. 28 -- UAW President Stephen P. Yokich, and UAW Vice President Richard Shoemaker, who directs the union's General Motors Department, General Motors Chairman and CEO Jack Smith, and Gary Cowger, Group Vice President Labor Relations and J. T. Battenberg, III, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Delphi Automotive Systems announced tonight that the UAW has reached tentative agreements with General Motors and Delphi on new contracts covering hourly workers at General Motors and Delphi facilities in the United States. Details of the tentative new agreements are being withheld pending ratification votes by the UAW General Motors and Delphi membership.
