The Syracuse facility is a repeat winner having also earned the award in 1998. Established by Indiana Gov. Frank O'Bannon, the award is designed to foster continuous improvement among Indiana businesses and organizations. The award will be presented to Dana on Oct. 4 during ceremonies at the Joyce Center in South Bend, Ind. The Syracuse light truck axle facility manufactures and assembles a variety of axle products and related components for original equipment vehicle manufacturers including DaimlerChrysler, Ford, General Motors, Isuzu, and Nissan. "We are extremely proud to have been selected as a repeat winner of the Indiana Quality Improvement Award," said Syracuse Plant Manager Mike Kline. "Quality is clearly a major focus of both our customers and the Syracuse team. To be recognized as a statewide leader in quality is a direct reflection on the efforts of our people." The Syracuse light truck axle facility is part of Dana's Automotive Axle Products Group, consisting of more than 20 manufacturing, assembly, and research and development facilities in 16 nations. The axle group is part of Dana's Automotive Systems Group, which provides axles, driveshafts, structural products, brake and clutch actuation products, steering and suspension products, and modules and systems for a $30 billion global marketplace.
