World's Most Gripping Performer On Ice Takes To Ice, Ads To Help Goodyear Educate Cold-Climate U.S. & Canadian Drivers On Winter Tire Benefits vs. All-Season Tires Millennium Mega-Program Offers Drivers 42 New York Trips, New Year's Eve Private Jet Trip To L.A., Rose Bowl Tickets, Lunch With "The Great One" & Mazda Millenias WHAT: The world's most gripping performer on ice returns to one of sports' most gripping sites for the first time since retiring earlier this year. Gretzky and top Goodyear executives will announce that "The Great One" will serve as the company's first celebrity spokesman in its 100-year history. Figuring that the kick-off of hockey season marks the perfect time to get cold-climate drivers focused early on winter driving safety and preparation, Wayne Gretzky will put Goodyear's new Ultra Grip Ice winter tires to the test on the Garden ice. The scouting report shows that Ultra Grips provide 40% better traction on ice and snow than traditional all-season radials. As part of the program, Goodyear and Gretzky are asking drivers to describe the "Most Gripping Moment Of Their Life" and vote on "The Most Gripping Moments of the 20th Century." Winners will receive the ultimate millennium party, the "Ultra Grip Ultra Trip" -- Expense-paid trips to New York City, a chartered New Year's Eve party jet to Los Angeles with celebrations over four time zones, tickets to the Rose Bowl Game and Parade, and sets of Ultra Grip tires. Two grand prize winners will receive a 2000 Mazda Millennium-Edition Millenia.
