CSC Launches ANX Systems Integration Services, Signs AT&T Alliance AgreementSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 22 -- Computer Sciences Corporation today announced that it has been awarded Automotive Network eXchange(R) (ANX(R)) status as a trading partner and has launched ANX systems integration services. This means CSC is authorized to set up ANX services and provide data warehousing for automotive industry suppliers. CSC's involvement with ANX is expected to generate $1 million in revenues for CSC this fiscal year. "This confirms our commitment to providing full-service solutions for our clients," said Art Spiegel, president of CSC's Healthcare Group. "Becoming an ANX trading partner and systems integrator further strengthens our ability to deliver e-business solutions." The ANX created a standard for transferring electronic information. It uses Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to provide automotive manufacturers and their trading partners with a single, secure network for electronic commerce and data transfer. Many automotive manufacturers are moving toward mandating that their suppliers exchange data with them through ANX. Currently, automotive trading partners have multiple, often costly communication connections. By providing one logical connection and only one protocol, ANX promises to simplify and reduce the costs of electronic data transfer. The need for timely, accurate and secure healthcare data transfer prompted CSC's venture into ANX. "It was a logical next step to take CSC's data warehousing capabilities, already in place for healthcare information transfer, and use it with ANX protocols to provide data transfer services across the automotive industry," said Spiegel. CSC will connect to ANX from its state-of-the-art, secure data center in Southfield, Mich. The company can provide a full range of ANX integration and outsourcing solutions, including consulting and planning with suppliers, as well as installing and integrating hardware, software and IPSec protocols in a turnkey, timeshare or outsourced environment. There will be network and intrusion-detection monitoring 24 hours a day, seven days a week. CSC can also assist in and manage a supplier's ANX subscription and registration process and assist with selection of a certified ANX service provider. To further enhance CSC's ANX service, the company just signed on as an AT&T Alliance Program Agent. AT&T is an ANX Certified Service Provider, and the alliance enhances CSC's capabilities to provide valuable, reliable data transfer tools to ANX users and other customers. "Through the alliance, we can offer our customers superior services by ensuring immediate transfer of data via an AT&T SONET Ring," says Spiegel. The SONET Ring can send data around the world in seconds. CSC is installing microwave dishes at the Southfield data center to transmit customer data to the SONET Ring.
