NASCAR WWEST: Woodside and Bill McAnally Racing Looking For a Smile From Lady Luck

22 September 1999

September 22, 1999 (Roseville, CA) - Sean Woodside and Bill McAnally Racing
are hoping for a nod and a smile from Lady Luck this Saturday in the NASCAR
Winston West's Gold Coast 150 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Although both
driver and team have had competitive runs at Las Vegas over the past three
seasons, the 1.5-mile oval has taken as much as it has given.

Out of a collective 10 starts, Woodside and McAnally Racing have accumulated
one top five and two top 10 finishes, as well as several finishes that were
marred by crashes and mechanical problems. Woodside has finished as high as
fourth and as low as 27th at Las Vegas. McAnally Racing posted a 14th place
finish in 1997, with team owner Bill McAnally behind the wheel.

"We're all going into this race with a positive attitude to bring home our
best possible finish, maybe even our second win for the season. We've spent
the past couple of weeks doing our homework, looking over notes, and trying
to figure out what worked and what didn't. We've come up with a combination
to start with, and we'll take it from there," Woodside commented.

Although the team currently leads the championship standings by 106 points,
there is still only a 205 point spread between first and 10th place. With
three races remaining on the 1999 Winston West Schedule, the team is placing
a high priority both on strengthening its points lead and on a strong finish
in this weekend's event.

Woodside and McAnally Racing are also looking forward to visiting with the
Western, Mountain and Southwest NAPA divisions, and NAPA's many
manufacturers, employees, store owners and customers who will gather this
weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

"With both McAnally Racing's NAPA-sponsored Winston West team and DEI's
NAPA-sponsored NASCAR Truck Series team competing this weekend, it will be
great to have the support of all three divisions," said team owner Bill
McAnally.

Bill McAnally Racing (BMR) owns and operates the No. 16 NAPA Auto
Parts/Martin Senour Automotive Finishes/NAPA Filters/California Integrated
Waste Management Recycled Oil Program Chevrolet Monte Carlo NASCAR Winston
West team with Sean Woodside as driver. They are leading the series in the
points standings, the Gatorade Front Runner Award, the Clevite Engine Builder
Award and Bud Pole Award races, laps led, laps completed and best average
finish. Current season results include one win, three top five, eight top ten
finishes and two Bud Pole Awards. Woodside finished both the 1997 and 1998
seasons in second place in the Winston West points standings.
