Webasto Consolidates New Aftermarket Sunroofs Under SolAire Brand NameSTERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., Sept. 21 -- Webasto Sunroofs, Inc., North America's largest supplier of sunroofs to the automotive industry, has announced a new name -- SolAire -- for its all-new product line. "Our improved and expanded SolAire line provides superior products and features at lower costs in all product segments," said Michael Thibideau, general manager, aftermarket division. "The total value created by the SolAire line for the installer is unmatched in the marketplace. This includes better quality seals, wind deflectors, mechanisms, interior headliner options, and unmatched durability and reliability. Webasto has carefully engineered each product introduction and improvement to achieve easier installation, excellent quality, and significantly lower selling prices. Simply put, it's a better product at a better price," said Thibideau. "We selected the name SolAire, which literally translates to SunAir, because it represents the benefits experienced when a driver or passenger opens their sunroof to enjoy sunshine and fresh air," stated Thibideau. "The new SolAire(TM) product line has almost completely replaced the past Starlite(TM) line, and reflects the internationally recognized high quality capabilities of our company." Webasto sells 42 percent of all sunroofs, worldwide, and holds a leading position in the North American automotive aftermarket. The SolAire line is sold through over 200 authorized dealers who currently service approximately 4,000 auto dealers. To better serve its growing market, the company is replacing or upgrading all of its products and is concentrating on quality, features, benefits, cost and new model introductions. On a marketing level, Webasto is providing greater incentives and value to SolAire Dealers, thus increasing opportunities for sales and profits. Webasto is the world's largest supplier of automotive original equipment and aftermarket sunroofs. The company, which is a joint venture of Germany-based Webasto AG and Canada's Magna International, employs 700 in Michigan and 3,800 worldwide. Webasto has seven facilities in Michigan, California and Kentucky.
