CASCAR Castrol Super Series West Versatel / Race City 150 Results Jefferson wins race and Western championship in season finale CALGARY, AB - Steve Jefferson entered the final race of the CASCAR Castrol Super Series West season - at Race City Motorsport Park on Saturday evening - needing a solid finish to secure his first career CASCAR championship. The Prince George, BC racer went above and beyond what was required and won the Versatel / Race City 150 in front of over 5,000 fans at the high-banked, half-mile Calgary oval. Jefferson started seventh in the 18-car field and moved to the lead on lap 100. His Mopar Batteries Dodge maintained control of the race for the final 50 laps, beating Carl Harr and Wade Lee, the second and third-place finishers. The season finale was characterized by close racing among the top three. In all, six racers finished on the lead lap. Jefferson's CASCAR Castrol Super Series West crown was the second for Dodge in its history in the series. Last year, Windsor, ON racer Ron Beauchamp Jr. won the Eastern title in a Dodge. During qualifying for the Versatel / Race City 150, heat wins went to Ron Larson and Carl Harr.
