Olds & Saturday Night Live Paired In 25th Anniversary Giveaway

20 September 1999

DETROIT, Sept. 20 / -- Is it Steve Martin, with his "Wild and Crazy Guy" bit?
Maybe John Belushi, serving up Pepsi and "cheez-behr-ghers?" Or could it be more
recent skits like the "cheerleaders" or "goat boy"?

Following 25 years and hundreds of episodes, the crew of Saturday Night
Live (SNL) plans on delivering some uproarious guffaws as they round up their
greatest moments in a silver anniversary special airing September 26 on NBC.
SNL devotees also will have the opportunity to nominate their choice for most
intriguing moment of SNL history by entering the Intrigue Saturday Night Live
25 Sweepstakes. For one lucky viewer, it will also include driving away in a
new 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS.

Sponsored by Oldsmobile Intrigue, the live special will feature guest
appearances from past and present cast members, musical performances,
retrospectives and the most loved skits of the past 25 years from the
sophisticated and sometimes edgy comedy show.

Through a unique, national promotion with Oldsmobile, a series of print
ads and television commercials will invite viewers to log onto a website
to simultaneously give their choice for most intriguing SNL moment of all time
and register for the Intrigue Saturday Night Live 25 Sweepstakes.

Once logged in, consumers simply enter their personal information and
their opinion on their favorite moment of SNL history, from the show's debut
in 1975 through present. Registration for the sweepstakes is automatic.
On September 26, millions of viewers will have an opportunity to join in
the poll by calling 1-877-OLDS-SNL25 or by logging onto the website throughout
the broadcast of the 2 1/2 hour special.

"Partnering with Saturday Night Live on this 25th anniversary show may be
a bit unorthodox for a car company," explains Tim Rousch, brand manager for
the Intrigue. "But it's an opportunity for younger, more sophisticated
audiences to respond to something new from Oldsmobile. The way we communicate
our product line has to be as confident and savvy as the clientele. It's as
simple as that."

In addition to the 2000 Intrigue GLS grand prize, fourteen first place
viewers will win a trip to New York for a special behind the scenes peek at
the taping of a show in the 1999/2000 season.
