CTS Corporation Introduces One Million Life Cycle, 9mm Variable Resistor

ELKHART, Ind.--CTS Corporation announced Friday the availability of Series 251, a one million life cycle variable resistor. This miniature, 9mm, CTS variable resistor is well suited for use in joystick controls or other applications where long life, small size and cost are critical requirements. The Series 251 variable resistor additionally features a low rotational torque, choice of eight effective shaft angle rotations and optional resistance tap.

A wide range of resistance values is offered with standard resistance tolerance of +/-20% (+/-10% available). Physical characteristics include a 4mm or 5mm diameter flatted shaft trim or no shaft. Series 251 can also be customized to meet customer-specific design requirements for high volume applications. The new Series 251 complements CTS' existing 9mm Series 250 rotary variable resistor family, which has a rated life cycle of 5,000 rotations.

A typical Series 251 long-life variable resistor is competitively priced at less than $0.50 each in production quantities and is available worldwide from CTS Sales Representatives/Agents. The CTS 251 will additionally be available off-the-shelf, in a choice of two configurations, from authorized CTS Distributors during the fourth quarter of 1999.

Complete Electrical and Mechanical Specifications, Outline Drawings and Part Numbering Information are included on a two-page Technical Data Sheet No. 1251 available from your nearest CTS Sales Representative or Rick Ritter, VR Product Manager, CTS Resistor/Electrocomponents, Phone: 219-296-0482, Fax: 219-293-1240.
