Wescast Announces European Sales And Design Initiative

    BRANTFORD, Ontario--Sept. 16, 1999--Wescast Industries Inc. , is pleased to announce the incorporation of a European Sales and Product Development Centre to be headquartered in Kassel, Germany.
    The new company, Wescast Industries GmbH , will provide our customers with direct access in Europe to Wescast's technical and design expertise.
    "We are really pleased with this commitment to provide the European market with the same full service capability we currently provide in North America," states Ray Finnie. "The establishment of this Sales and Product Development Center is a big step in our globalization strategy."
    Wescast Industries Inc. is the largest manufacturer and supplier of exhaust manifolds for passenger cars and light trucks in the world. In addition, the Company produces pressure retaining high-alloy cast steel pump components for the petrochemical, pulp and paper and food processing industries. The Company has six facilities throughout Southwestern Ontario and Detroit Michigan, and employs 1,700 people.
