NASCAR Trucks: Team ASE to continue with NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2000
17 September 1999
Herndon, VA. September 17, 1999. The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, ASE, announced today it will again be a primary sponsor in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2000, continuing its five year relationship with team owners Marlene and Jim Smith. "With the #2 Ultra Motorsports team, Marlene and Jim have provided ASE with a very competitive truck each year," commented Ronald H. Weiner, President of ASE. "We have won races and have been a threat to win the championship each year. We have also enjoyed success with our own marketing efforts built on this program." Series co-founder Jim Smith, who welcomes back his primary sponsor for the fifth straight year, offered these thoughts. "Every year our goal has been the championship trophy and 2000 will be no different. We are also pleased that NASCAR continues to support the growth of the series. By doing so, the truck series remains a viable marketing tool for Team ASE and other sponsors of Ultra Motorsports." Ultra Motorsports cumulative record (since 1995) in the NCTS series includes 8 wins, 12 poles, 37 top five and 60 top ten finishes, all of which have been with Team ASE as the primary sponsor. ASE, The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, is a non-profit organization founded in 1972 with the mission of improving the quality of automotive repair service through the voluntary testing and certification of technicians. There are over 420,000 ASE-certified professionals working in all types of service repair facilities in North America.
